A Sonic Story
Sean studied trumpet at Birmingham Conservatoire under Alan Thomas (CBSO, BBC Concert), graduating in 2011. He then went on to win a scholarship for postgraduate study at the Royal Northern College of Music. Sean gained his PGDip(solo) in 2013 after holding the position of principal trumpet with the Chamber Orchestra, Concert Orchestra, Brass Ensemble and featuring as a soloist with the RNCM brass band.
As a professional musician Sean has extensive TV and radio credits including live performances on BBC London, numerous appearances on the Free Radio Birmingham Breakfast Show, Sky Sports and BT Sports, as well as recorded performances on Channel 4’s Hollyoaks, E4’s Don’t Tell the Bride, ITV, Radio Nottingham, HKG FM (Japan) and WRUV 90.1 (USA), even performing for Pope Benedict live on BBC1.
Sean now combines extensive work as a freelance musician with a busy teaching schedule around the Midlands; including being Teacher of Trumpet and Ensemble Director at Nottingham High School and Specialist Visiting Lecturer at Birmingham Conservatoire.Trumpet_Sean is available for bookings, guest appearances and interviews. HOSEN BRASS
Sean is the lead trumpet and one of the founding members of Oompah-fusion party brass band Hosen Brass. They can be found getting everyone up on their feet and dancing every Saturday and most Thursdays at their residency in London's famous Katzenjammers. On top of this they are available for parties and events.
